Trends

There are always going to be trends in Internet Marketing.  Some techniques will work great for awhile and then stop working.  Some things will make come-backs and some things won't.

Adsense was huge and then it got tough because of all of the competition.  Myspace marketing was really hot for awhile, but Myspace started cracking down on spamming.  I could go on and on.

Another thing that is ever changing is the search engines.  Some search engines fall in love with certain sites and then fall out of love with them.  You have to always keep a pulse of the situation and make sure to not rely on one means of traffic.

When it comes to bum marketing, I'm not down on it because there is more competition because it has become more popular.  I think that you can still be successful with it in different niches and by using cutting edge keyword research tools.

I'm just not big on it for the people that have been marketing it for awhile because you're not really creating flexible assets.  I love the strategy for newbies, if they do it right, but I think that if you're going to do all that writing, you should get into product creation.

That way you're creating flexible assets.  The income limit is really unlimited.  You can sell them, use them to build a mailing list and affiliate products.

When I look at the trends like eBay and people could make money selling almost anything.  People would sell other people's products and become a Powerseller.  Everyone started doing it and the listing fees starting going up, so everyone was saying that you can't make money off eBay anymore.

Well, it might be a lot tougher for someone to make money with that strategy, but there are a ton of different strategies for selling and using eBay.  You can still make money with eBay arbitrage where you buy products that are cheaply priced for whatever reason and sell them on eBay, also buying stuff from people who have crappy auctions and sales page and turn around and sell it.

You can still make money from selling info products because of the sales process.  Affiliating products and building your mailing list etc.  You can also use eBay to get traffic.  So, strategies within a trend may start to fade, but sometimes there are different strategies within that trend that still work and work well.  I think that will continue to be the case on trends of the future.
